The first two miles

|
If a pair of shoes lasts for 500 miles, I have approximately 498 miles to go before trading them in. That is a whole lotta miles. I'm not sure how long it will take me to get into this running thing, but tonight wasn't too bad. Though it wasn't all jogging, it was more of a walk - jog - walk - jog - waaaaaaaalk - jog (you're almost to the fire hydrant! keep going!) - walk (just for a block... hmmm, maybe another block) - jog (to the trashcan up there!) - walk. But that's more running than I've purposefully done in probably 2 years, so I'd say I'm off to a good start. I forgot to recharge my ipod from my trip to Arkansas, so I was unfortunate enough to hear two catcalls. I know, I'm hot.

Ha! That's funny :) Those shoes look like they make you run fast. Are you doing the Couch to 5K program or the DeMo Method?

It was fun to look down and see shiny and white things moving along the pavement. I kinda felt like I was in one of the Nike commercials and my shoes were taking on a life of their own.

I'm not sure if I'll do couch to 5K. I probably should, since I'm pretty sure that the DeMo Method would probably not have such positive results. :)

I started doing the Couch to 5K but gave up after a few weeks and decided to do the Stephany method, which is adding a quarter-mile every week. So I'm up to three-quarters of a mile, yay. Haha, I feel you, though. You never know how enjoyable walking can be until you have to run... :)

haha. i am definitely with you on the walk-jog-waaaaalk-jog! ;)
*although, i have decided mine has gradually morphed into a continual "lope"....(it's a special form of running....for the particularly tall and mostly unathletic.) :)

@Leslye - I'm sure that your lope is lovely. :)

You can do it! Just watch out for Amy Alley. She has a pretty amazing ability to talk just about anyone into running a half-marathon.
