3 miles is possible!

|
Here's my time, for the record, in case I forget it.

My goal is to be able to run the Frosty 5k on New Year's Day, which might be sort of difficult considering I probably will not have slept very much, and I need 7 hours to function. But after running tonight, I know that a 5k is within reach! And how cool would that be to add one of those running number signs to my bulletin board?

I listened to podcasts of Ecclesiastes, which was actually sort of refreshing from the norm of listening to music, and interesting to hear so many pieces of wisdom that were written so long ago, yet apply to us so well today.

Here's my path. I think the only reason that I made it an actual 3 miles (3.04 to be exact!) is that I mapped it out beforehand and knew how far I had to go. I told myself that I could only quit when I felt like I was going to die. (I took my ID just in case I really did pass out.) As I rounded the corner to 13th street, I got this extra energy and a smile because I knew that I was almost there, and there was no way that I was going to quit when I only had 8 blocks until the end. Is that what adrenaline feels like?

Wow. Here;s another comment from ANOTHER Erin :-) Great job! Running along the river is such a good idea. The scenery surely helps the time pass more quickly.

We're on the edge of town - just about to Goddard (135th & 13th West), so I have to do this strange weaving pattern in and out of neighborhoods just to hit 3 miles. And I actually DROVE it to see how long it was...cuz it didn't even occure to me to use a running map ;-)

My name is not Erin. Can I still comment?

Good job! I went through a running phase a few years ago but never made it up to three miles so I am super impressed.

Good work! It feels so good when you're able to achieve that next milestone, huh? I ran the Frosty 5k a couple years ago. Good race...though a little on the chilly side. Mostly I like that their t-shirts were long-sleeved.
